This stone statue of Napoleon 1st, sculpted by Georges THUROTTE in 1974, commemorates the victory of the French armies in Craonne against General Blücher’s Russian and Prussian armies on 7th march 1814.

This statue was built on the site of Vauclair mill, which was used during the battles as an observatory.
